Key Royale was originally known as School Key and remained uninhabited until 1960 when a bridge was built from Holmes Beach to Key Royale. In 1965 the Key Royale Golf course was built and is now the only Golf club and course on the island. Key Royale can be described as an upscale boating community with homes from the old Florida style to the newer architecture. The streets are lined with Royal Palms and boaters are drawn to Key Royale for it’s easy access to Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Most all of the 348 residential homes here are on on deep water canals and some have spectacular full sweeping views of the Bay. Prices range from $400’s to $5 million range and up.
